Weiser Airpark is located on the outbound Northwest Freeway (Highway 290) between Huffmeister and Telge Road. From either direction, Exit Huffmeister, From Houston keep strait at light. From Austin make U-Turn.
Weiser Airpark is a public airport. It is an airport that anyone can come by and sit near runway and watch the planes land and take off. There are picnic tables in front of blue building which is The Flight School training room. Bring the family, kids love to look at planes. Bring some snacks and stay a while. Weekends are the busiest. Spring is here and if is a nice clear sunny day, there will be plenty of planes flying around the pattern doing touch and goes. Hey, if you get the urge to fly, The Flight School will be glad to give you a discovery flight. You can also schedule a Discovery Flight and take the kids up for a flight around Houston.
Weiser Airpark is a very unique airport. It is the only small airport in the Houston area that is located on a major freeway. It has no employees, but if someone needs help, there are plenty of volunteers to assist. It is probably the “friendliest airport” in the United States. Pilots from all over the Houston area come to Weiser Airpark for the camaraderie and friendship it offers. The coffee pot is usually on in the “shack” and everyone likes to talk about flying, politics or anything else. Many people visit the airport just to watch planes land and take-off. There are areas to view the aircraft within 50 feet of the runway.
Runway 09-27 is 3,455 foot paved and 40 feet wide. It is lighted dusk to dawn. For noise abatement, Runway 09 uses right hand traffic.
